Roxio issues windows 7

Question Wasim Ismail 0. Report post. Posted January 27, edited. Hello everyone, I recently got a new computer with Windows 7. Anyone have any suggestions or encountered the same problem? What makes no sense is that the website does say it is compatible Vista both 32 bit and 64 bit.

Mine is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Thanks for any help. Edited January 27, by Wasim Ismail.
. Recommended Posts. Thanks for your feedback. You can try compatibility mode. If the program is not compatible, then you may try to install and run the program in compatibility mode. This includes messengers, anti-virus, etc - in fact any service really apart from the OS itself.

I am so frustrated with this program. How do you make sure everything is closed down? Thanks gi7omy, but like crumlerd, I have gone through many hoops with Roxio Support without success. Why should the program be so hard to install properly? Why have I got to shut down services and programs which ones?

Surely this is the task of the writers, not the users? I maintain that this is a Roxio problem and it should not be blamed on the user or his computer. EVERY software application has that in the installation instructions - you did read them didn't you? Oddly enough, I do read instructions - occasionally!

Including Virus checkers. One thing we should NOT be asked to do is shut down anti-virus programs to instal programs - isn't this defeating the point of having these protection programs in the first place, or should we just have blind faith that the program we are installing is OK?

Sorry to rant like this, but this infuriates me. I think it is a cop-out by Software writers who don't know how to program correctly to avoid conflicts with virus checkers. Their problem, not mine! You're not alone I don't know how to check the current version running. Well after using computers for the last 30 odd years it seems very strange that ONE particular application gives so many headaches to so many people.

The programmers at Roxio may be doing something right meaning all the other application programmers are doing it all wrong but an application that causes so many problems just doesn't make sense to me.

All was working fine a few days ago. I attempted a repair but got a message that it couldn't find a particular file. I looked in the specified location and it was empty. I started the main Roxio install.

I got around this by unzipping the. I tried to uninstall C and after some time it informed me that C was uninstalled and to restart my PC. When I tried to reinstall the only options I got was repair or uninstall. After looking around I found a small reg fix to run after the normal uninstall routine. This enabled me to reinstall C and the content.

I then ran the SP2 update but the problem is still there. Any AND all other applications I have ever run have never given me this much headache. So I beg to differ that it IS the fault of the coders, the average user has absolutely no idea of what is going on and therefore coders take that into consideration when they write a program. The Roxio team should make the application foolproof, meaning that any user, no matter how little they know about computers, should be able to install and run an application they've paid money for.

I support anyone who complains about the numerous bugs and sudden unrepairable crashes that are well documented in these fora. Roxio is could be a great application but there are other applications some free which are much less troublesome. Can you believe it? Which average PC user even knows what these guys are talking about?
